Father’s Day Special Events
With Father’s Day just around the corner, how about planning some activities to help you bond with dad? Here’s an enjoyable activity:
10,000 Fathers Reading! is organised by the National Library Board Centre for Fathering: This inaugural mass reading event will be held on Father’s Day (17 June 2007) at the East Coast Park. Thousands of fathers will gather to read with their children, thereby promoting family bonding through father-child reading. For more information on the venue, time and programme for this event, email your queries to 10000_fathers@nlb.gov.sg
What To Do During An Emergency
It never hurts to be prepared and well informed for any crisis or emergency that comes our way. For this very reason, the SINGOV Government Information website includes a page with these features:
-
A list of the important hotline numbers to dial during different emergencies
-
Detailed information on the various crises that Singapore has faced in recent times, e.g. Bird flu, SARS.
-
Online resources on issues that concern us increasingly, e.g. civil defense, terrorism, bomb threats and chemical warfare, environmental disasters (tsunamis), etc.
So, don’t forget to give this website a look-through and tell all your friends about it... It might just save your life!
