'Community in Bloom' Programme
Join the National Parks Board (NParks) in its efforts to promote an active gardening culture in urban Singapore through the 'Community in Bloom' Programme. This Programme aims to facilitate the development of four categories of community-based gardens: in public housing estates, private housing estates, educational institutions, and other organisations. These gardens may contain landscaped flowerbeds, herbs, spices or vegetables.
The Programme's main goal is for these community gardens to become a focal point, drawing together people from various communities to interact, build bonds and share their gardening knowledge through gardening activities. NParks has developed an off-shoot of the Programme called the 'Community in Bloom Schools' Programme. SingaporeLearning.com is proud to contribute to this Programme by making available on its website two Teacher’s Resource books entitled 'Community in Bloom Schools – Gardening Engagement Activities' for the Primary and Secondary levels. These worksheets are designed to assist the schools in their gardening programme. They contain gardening-related activities and mini projects to capture students' interest.
